Guararapes is today one of the most important manufacturers of MDF and wood plywood in the Americas. The brand sought to expand its presence and position itself in the competitive architecture and design market of São Paulo.
The idea: to transform an old 900m2 mansion from the 1920s, in the heart of the city (Av. Brasil), into a new product showroom.
But how to make this space relevant, desired, and a destination for architects and decorators?

Casa Guararapes São Paulo was conceived to promote education, socialization, culture, and sustainability. It is an interactive environment developed to facilitate creative processes, from sketching to project finalization. Furthermore, it offers updates on the universe of Architecture and Design with workshops, lectures, and training courses, available free of charge to professionals. The project required the complete update of the building to transform it into this dynamic and multi-purpose space, resulting in a unique combination of contemporary scenography and interior architecture concepts with the building's original architecture, now highly valued. R4DESIGN collaborated with Guararapes from the Project Conceptualization, Modeling of the Needs Program and Activity Mix, Creative Concept, Scenography, Technical Projects, to the Execution Management.
Casa Guararapes was one of the 12 Brazilian interior architecture projects awarded at the iF Design Award 2023! The showroom, which presents Guararapes product launches and collection, also offers an open workspace (coworking), auditorium, meeting rooms, material library (materioteca), and gourmet area, in addition to the Casa Múltipla (temporary exhibition room). A modern and versatile space for fostering ideas, projects, and professional connections in architecture and design.
